Mined & Forrest Dj and Producer duo
Mined & Forrest

In the summer of 2017, the first “Mined & Forrest” EP was launched, introducing DJ & producer Mined (Munich) of the artist collective Obba Select, and Forrest Funk (Augsburg).

Their debut EP was released on the 15th of September 2017 by the internationally renowned breakbeat label “Breakbeat Paradise Recordings” including three tracks plus a remix of the title track by DJ & producer Jayl Funk (Nuremberg).

The EP has the fitting title “There It Is”.

The starting point for Mined & Forrest was a gig at the Salzburg based event Break Boutique. Thank funk that these two like-minded artists found each other and after the first studio session they both had the same goal: let’s release an EP together!

A little teaser was dropped in June 2016: during their work on “There It Is’, they released the track ‘Doin’ it’ on the NuBlends Compilation Vol. 16, a Vienna-based music label.

Their EP concered the JunoDownload and the Beatport Bestseller Charts, the main two download stores for electronic music.

No1Spot of the JunoDownload Breakbeat Bestseller after one week, staying in the TOP10 for months. No3 Spot Beatport Glitchhop Albums Chart, having three tracks in the Top20 Singles Chart at the same time. Recieving great feedback and support from fellow artists worldwide their EP turned quite some heads in the scene.

After their debut release, the two of them kept on producing. One example is the podcast for the Power Hour Radio Show (Breakbeat Paradise Recordings) with air plays on NSB Radio and DI.FM as well as remixes for Lack Jemmon, Basement Freaks, Ken and Jack & Jointz.

Mined & Forrest are well-known in the local music scene. They have been part of various breakbeat, hip hop and reggae crews having been booked at events like the ‘Chiemsee Reggae Festival’ and the ‘Oben Ohne Festival’.

They have also DJ-ed with Lack Jemmon, Jayl Funk, Quincy Jointz, DJ Maxxx as well as Nobody’s Face and have supported Macka B., Gentleman, Dendemann, Cro, Kraftklub, Camp Lo and many others.

Their sound is a vibrant mixture of Breakbeat, Funky Beats, Ghetto Funk, NuFunk and Glitch Hop based on modern bass design and analog sampling with roots in hip hop.

Taste, passion, funky attitude. There it is!
